Van Shopping

Today Dada and I went shopping for a modified van that can transport Dakin. We have, hitherto, been using our car and a carseat. He does great in the carseat (we finally got it forward facing!), but he will be too heavy to get him in there effectively before too long.

Soooo, we went shopping. We met with a wonderful lady in Tyler who talked to us about the financing as well as available options. These vans are amazing! I was baffled as to how we could get Dakin in his chair in one, but they are HUGE inside.

We are planning to have one by the end of April. We have some ducks to get in their row, and the stars need to align, but we should be able to pull it off. Wish us luck.

Hi My name is Aaron and i live in Wa state and my nine month old son has this very same disease and I was wondering if you had a facebook or an e-mail that i can contact you through? I have alot of questions and there seem to be very few practical answers out there.

Please do me a favor and save all your research on these vans! We were looking into the same thing, but decided to wait another 6-12 months at least (or until my SUV gives out). I REALLY do not want a minivan, but I guess that, too, came with the disease. I will look all fancy at work with my clients - ha! Maybe the van company can give us a 2fer deal! Good luck!

Maybe we can get a 2fer deal! Really though, you'll have to save all the research on the vans for us if you can. We started to look for pricing purposes and have decided to let my SUV ride it out for a little longer. I really don't want a minivan!!! Good luck.

A modified van will change your life!! We used to have a full-size van, but a few years ago went to a minivan and I love it! Good luck!

Like I even need to mention how much easier life will be with a conversion van, but I will cause it's something I'm beyond grateful for.

We have a Chrysler Town & Country with a Braun conversion. It's been a life saver, especially on my back. I've no complaints. A simple push of a button opens the van door and the lift comes out automatically. Push Logan up the ramp and secure his chair with tie downs and we are good to go. I'm thankful for it everyday!

Okay, so the tie downs can be a pain in the neck, but not even worth complaining about. I'll take tie downs over not having a van any day.

I wish you all the luck and hope everything works out in your favor. Keeping my fingers crossed.
