Well...

Dakin is back on the O2. At least for a little while after he falls asleep--he just takes a nose dive the second he does. So I call up the pulmonologist, and they say, ok, it sounds like it might be a trach issue, so call up the ENT. I call up the ENT, and the nurse tells me they think it's pulmonary. Um, no, if it were pulmonary, I would have been able to solve the problem by myself by now.

So I made an appointment to see the ENT the same day we have vent clinic. We will figure this out.

(The ENT nurse was way rude to me too...like I have no idea what I'm talking about. I am glad the docs don't talk to me like that. There would be issues. Grrrr.)

sure hope you can get to the bottom of this. Oh, I just hate it when a nurse treats you like you are clueless.

It irks me more than just about anything when medical professionals act like they know more than I do. I am THE expert on my child! Grrrr.

When you go to see the ENT doc. Mention in passing that the nurse on the phone was rude and didn't seem to know anything about your son or his issues and was making recommendations.
When I had a idiot worker bee act like that to me, I complained to my husband's dr. and hubby complained to the department supervisor. There is no excuse for rudeness when you are in the medical field.
I hope you get this all figured out soon. Caleigh still prays for Dakin every night.. (well we pray and she holds her hands. but when we say "and God please help them find a cure for Dakin" she is so cute she nods, and then says "amen"

It's a common hospital issue - doctors and nurses pass you around, refer you to people until you find yourself chasing your tail.

Maybe let's suggest them to create a protocol of some sort; before referring the case to another, check it themselves first. oh well.

wish you're done with all these. Good luck with everything. ^_^
